About the Logo

a prism is an object which refracts white light into its component forms —i.e. into a rainbow. The triangular shape lends this aspect of the word meaning, a subtle showcase of different identities. The equal sign covers the simple message of the group: equality for all.

Identity Posters

That's so gay. No homo. Fag. These are words you hear everyday in the hallways, meant to be insulting of course, but devoid of their original meaning. These posters take "gay" as an insult and subverts it, reminding those who see it the word itself is an identity word and that its use as an insult has real life repercussions for those in the LGBT+ community who hear it.

LGBT+ people have always existed and always will. These sticker designs were used in LGBT+ history week at ISB, and feature a diverse group of people who deserve to be celebrated for their achievements and their identity. Silvia Rivera was a transgender LGBT+ activist at the forefront of stonewall. Sally Ride was the first LGBT+ person in space. Marsha P. Johnson was an LGBT+ activist who was part of the stonewall riots. Leslie Cheung was a proud bisexual cantonese actor who starred in classic LGBT+ films like Farewell My Concubine. Audre Lorde was an lesbian woman of colour poet who stunned the world with her work.

Boy Erased

Movie Night Poster

One of the biggest movie nights hosted by the club. Watching Boy Erased by Joel Egerton, we explored the issue of conversion therapy and violence against LGBT+ identifying individuals, especially teens.
